After 20 years of experience in wholesale and international export trade, Karl-Heinz Schmitz decides to estabilish his own company TCI Ersatzteil-Service GmbH. 

In the beginning the company is working from his home with a small garage as a warehouse.

Larger shipments were handled through warehouses from forwarding agents.

Due to the growing business situation, the company moved to offices in Inchenhofen.

A large warehouse was rented in Aichach.

As the sales activities in Africa has increased for transmission spare parts and complete units, an agreement was signed with the transmission manufacturer ZF Friedrichshafen for market development in Africa. 

In September, the owner's son, Markus Schmitz, joins the company.

After training at Mercedes Benz located in Augsburg, he was able to support his father actively in the company with the extensive knowledge he had acquired in spare parts business for Passenger Cars and Commercial vehicles.

Since the office and warehouse became too small soon, it was the right time to finalize the idea to build an own warehouse with offices in the new industrial park in Inchenhofen.

Markus Schmitz is appointed as an additional managing director.

Conversion of the existing IT management system to a new ERP system in order to optimize and further develop the business processes.

The company founder Karl-Heinz Schmitz passed away very unexpectedly.

Personal cooperation was very important to him. In this way, he created an extraordinary company atmosphere in which the employees feel part of the "TCI family".

The company is now being continued by his son, Markus Schmitz.
